A new Star Trek video game will hit shelves in 2012 and some key people from?the 2009 reboot are involved.
Writer-producers of the film, Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman, collaborated on?the original story with God of War scribe Marianne Krawczyk, who wrote the?game.
And Bad Robot, the company run by filmmaker J.J. Abrams, Kurtzman and Orci?s?Paper Products shingle and Damon Lindelof worked with developers Digital?Extremes (Bioshock 2) in the making of the game, which is being published by
Paramount Digital Entertainment.
The game is said to the first time that players will be able to play the?part of Kirk and Spock with Paramount saying it is an extension of the?adventure begun by Abrams in the 2009 film. It teases the story involving?the duo as ?filled with action-packed combat as Kirk and Spock must work?together to stop a legendary enemy race bent on conquering the galaxy.?
The game will be for Xbox 360 and PlayStation3.
Kurtzman, Orci and Lindelof are currently working on the script for Star?Trek 2, which is tentatively set for a 2012 release. Still up in the air is?whether Abrams will commit to directing it.
