Turkish automotive production and exports?rise

Figures released by the Automotive Industry Association (OSD) have shown that total production and exports in the Turkish automotive industry have risen in the period of January to September 2011.
The figures show that total automotive production has risen by 13 percent to 884,000 in the period. Car production alone had risen by 8 percent to 477,000 compared with the same period in 2010.
The month of September saw the total automotive production rise by 7 percent, with automobile production also showing a rise in September 2011 compared with September 2010.
The total number of exports in the automotive industry rose by 6 percent in the period. Total exports reached 597,000 with automobile exports making up 334,000 of the numbers.
Turkey is one of the busiest nations for automobiles, recent statistics show that 1 in 5 people in Turkey now own a car or automobile. Cities like Istanbul experience major traffic problems in peak hours due to the number of cars on the road. Production of automobiles is on the rise and the number of people using automobiles in Turkey is on the rise too.
